Coronation Picnic

The big event after our last meeting was the Coronation picnic, a lovely day about 18 people came to eat lunch at our tables and drank a Pimm’s or two. Brian ran the Corgi game that Penny kindly gave us and the bunting from Cuppa Club was just right.

Susan produced Coronation Chicken, a pasta and pine nut salad and a green salad. The first guest did not eat spicy food so Kevin did a mercy dash to Sainsburys for some ham, the rest ate heartily and really enjoyed the two apple cakes produced by our wonderful volunteer driver Bill. His wife Teresa was an invaluable server and clearer and we were very grateful that they gave up a whole day to help us.

Richard did all the heavy lifting and packed he furniture and gazebos inside the minibus and returned it to the Church Centre.

What it demonstrated is that we could use more helpers.
